sisters head east...

My sisters & I are off on an adventure - a road trip, first to Mt Gambier, then along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay, followed by Melbourne, staying for a few days in each place. We're coming home via Broken Hill, so that we can catch up with our sister & niece.

We're planning twelve days of waterfalls, bush walks, amazing scenery, good food, plenty of photographs, fun, early mornings, exploring, a little shopping & lots of laughter.

You can follow our adventures on our tumblr, as well as my instagram & tumblr, with possibly a few posts here & on Kathryn's blog.

This blog + facebook will be pretty quiet & also, my etsy shop will be closed for the fortnight.

Happy Birthday Amy!

Today, my youngest sister Amy turns 18!

Amy is smart, kind, funny, generous, a very good cook, organised, determined, a little crazy (in a good way) & I love her heaps.

In other words, she's pretty awesome & I'm very lucky to have her as a sister & a friend.

We haven't taken nearly enough family portraits this year - both of these are from February, but she doesn't look much different now :)

S.I.S.T.E.R.

This year we - Kathryn, Amy & I - tackled the whole (12km) City-to-Bay. We even made special t-shirts with our team name - S.I.S.T.E.R.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day - although it was a bit hot when the breeze disappeared - & we were amongst a crowd of nearly 35,000 people.

The run definitely wasn't easy, but it did feel good (especially at the end.....when I got to stop :P ). I was also pleased with my time of 1 hour 41 minutes.

rain, rain, river flow...

Last week we had about 5 inches of rain (mostly on Tuesday) in the Southern Flinders, so the Rocky River has water in it. Mostly the river is dry, although in days gone by there were market gardens on its banks.

Anyway, on Monday we (my sisters & I, along with Archie) went for a walk to see the river & then on Wednesday we headed down again, this time with Mum along. We also went for a bit of a wade...
...the water was freezing, although our feet went kinda numb after a while, so we didn't notice any more.

& then the girls developed mysterious super powers....

...or just struck a silly pose :)

A hot cup of tea is like a little slice of heaven...

...on a cold day...or a cup of coffee or hot chocolate of course :) . Some out-takes from my Pretty Pink Tuesday shot. The one above is the one I almost chose (sorry Kathryn) & below are some shots of the girls & Archie getting in on the photoshoot, enjoy :)
