{ sand & sea }

On Christmas Day we took Holly for her first ever trip to the beach. She had lots of fun - chasing bits of seaweed, running across the sand & exploring a totally new place.

We actually don't get to the beach very often & despite it being quite cool (+ uber windy), we too enjoyed ourselves - wading in the shallows, sinking into the soft sand, gazing at the ocean & working up an appetite for more food & cake...

december reflections...

Been enjoying playing along with December Reflections on instagram this month - even though I really haven't really followed the themes much. It has been a nice reminder to find & share a moment of life every day & it's always fun browsing the tag & seeing what everyone else is up too...

apollo bay + otway national park | sisters head east

We spent two days in Apollo Bay - or really, we spent three nights there & two days in the Otway National Park.

I think we worked the hardest during this part of the trip - lots of walks down to waterfalls & then back up to the car - but totally worth it.  The walks varied in length, gradient & ease - from a fairly gentle stroll, to heaps of stairs, to scarily steep + one extremely wet/soggy/mushy path - difficult to walk down & even worse to go back up. All the waterfalls were gorgeous though - Hopetoun was the most picture-perfect, but they all had a beauty about them.

Still - lush, ferny greenery, cascading water, tall (tall!) trees, birdsong, fish & chips on the beach, stunning views, a tree-top walk...it all made for a wonderful (if tiring) couple of days.

merry & bright

It's Christmas Eve & we're getting ready for a traditional(ish) Polish Christmas Eve dinner & celebration with family - the presents are wrapped & ready to be placed under Babcia's tree, dinner is booked (we're eating at the Dom Polski this year) & the cakes are baked, ready to be eaten while un-wrapping the presents. I hope that wherever you are, however you celebrate (or not), you have light, laughter, something yummy & someone to share it with...

So, Merry Christmas everyone
may your days be filled with the people you love, good food & lots of laughter

a day at the market | december

A bit of a hot & blustery day for the December Wirrabara Producers Market, but there were still plenty of people out & about, buying up gorgeous local fruit & veg for Christmas.

Our stall looked lovely & colourful - fortunately the wind didn't manage to run away with our cover or stock - & we had some lovely customers, caught up with some friends, were given some lollies by santa & even managed to get in quick enough to come home with some cherries this year.

one summer sunday...

Last weekend I had a stall the Beaumont House Summer Sunday event. Although business was a little slow, it was a lovely day with good company, yummy scones, beautiful music & the gardens are simply gorgeous - so I thought I'd share a few photos I took when I slipped off for a little wander...

a few photos of my stall here + a few more photos on tumblr.

flinders street market | christmas grand bazaar

Our weekend at the Christmas Grand Bazaar was a huge success - in fact the organisers did an amazing job & I'm pretty sure the bazaar was a success for all involved.

We were very happy with our stall set-up, the weather was lovely, the customers were plentiful & there was an enormous selection of interesting stalls to browse. Also, good coffee, lovely food & amazing people...basically a wonderful weekend all round.
