yum...

As I mentioned when I posted the recipe for brown sugar spice cake, I was coveting some mini-bundt pans like Rachel has. When Mum & Dad arrived home with a pair of trays, I naturally had to use them to make brown sugar spice cakes.

They're long gone, but I did manage a few photos :)

We also got a pair of full size bundt tins & I used them when I baked coffee buttercake the other day.

books { the teleidoscope }

Something light hearted for week #7 of The Teleidoscope - Books.

before & after...

& the books that were supposed to be floating near me, but the photo looked better without them. The light was just too gorgeous not to post...

If you're wanting to know how to create a levitation photo this is a good tutorial.

finally finished - part 2

a look at the rest of the pieces from this post (part 1 here).

Most of these pendants (in fact, all except the one with the blue stone) have been given a patina & then rubbed back to enhance their textures.

The leaf below was a special request for my youngest sister Amy

& Kathryn fell in love with the yellow pendant...

I have some more large cubic zirconias in various colours, so I'll be making a few more pendants somewhat similar to this one.

finally finished - part 1

a little look at the final result with the pieces from this post (well, part one anyway - more to come).

These five pendants have been finished with sterling silver bails & semi-precious beads. The patterns on the two rounded pieces, as well as the piece with the sodalite (blue) bead, were done free-hand while the clay was still soft.

also some earrings, all finished with handmade hooks...

This first pair were supposed to be quite different (they were going to have a cz in the centre), but it wasn't working, so I changed my plans & I'm really pleased with the result.

and these last ones also have a free-hand pattern, with a similar design to the pendants.

bridge { the teleidoscope }

The light was just so gorgeous, I have heaps of out takes from week #6 of The Teleidoscope - Bridge.

I made the little bridge out of wire & with Amy & Kathryn's help, used the bird bath to create a setting for it. As usual, they provided ideas, encouragement & assistance. The end result is a cumulation of ideas & discussion between us three. Below are a couple of 'behind-the-scenes' shots.

Don't worry, I removed the rocks & dirt & left the birds with some clean water :)
