the end...

...of the DUST Christmas in July promotion. A busy, fun weekend. I sold something (yay!) & bought lots of lovely goodies. I'll take some photos & blog about them when they arrive, I can hardly wait :)

I'm running my sale until the end of July...10% off & free postage if you buy 2 or more items, so come & visit :)

{the photo is one I uploaded to my flickr tonight, I'm quite pleased with it, so I thought I'd share it here too}

it's nearly here....

The big DUST (down under street team) Christmas in July sale is coming & there will be heaps of awesome goodies to buy :)

As well as having a sale myself, I'm planning a bit of shopping :)

I made the above treasury (full of dusters who are participating in the sale) this afternoon. You can view it here
I decided to go with greens to compliment the treasury I made a few days ago (below), which was in warm reds

I'm really looking forward to this....see you there :)

Really Lemony Blueberry Yoghurt Cupcakes

The other night one of my Flickr contacts uploaded a shot of some cupcakes she had baked, with a link to the recipe. Once my sisters saw the photos, the demanded that I try baking them.

So, this morning I did :) They are really, really delicious & really easy to make. The batch I made is all gone already...one brother claimed that they are his new favourite way to eat yoghurt & I'm facing demands to bake a double batch as soon as possible.

Here is a link to the recipe.....butter sugar flour....some of the other recipes look really good to, I'm sure I'll be trying some of them sooner or later :)

hot glass...

Since I've posted about working with pmc, I thought I'd ramble a bit about making beads. The photos in this post are taken by my sister Amy, it being, as you might imagine, a little difficult to take my own during the process :).

To make beads you need: a torch, gas, glass rods, mandrels, vermiculite....this isn't intended to be a tutorial or anything, if I get you really interested, I suggest you find a class to attend :)

So....adding glass to the mandrel:

...heating the bead, to make it rounder:

...& rounder:

...adding some decoration (dots in this case, using stringer, which is a thin 'string' of glass):

...melting the dots in:

...& some more:

...checking to see if it's ready to be put into the vermiculite to cool down slowly (& looking rather serious in my stylish glasses) :

once the bead has cooled, I remove it from the mandrel, clean it & the anneal it in my kiln....& presto, beads:

Mmmmm mushroom...

I made a treasury last night (you can view it here), featuring cute mushroomy goodies & 'mushroom' coloured beauties.

I also uploaded a mushroom photo to my Flickr tonight:

& a bonus pic, just for fun :)
