adding & taking away...

...patina, that is. Same pieces I posted here (just after firing) & here (before firing), I've given them a patina, then selectively removed it, to accentuate the designs.

pendants, patterns & patinas...

the finished pendants from this batch of pmc pieces (see the earrings here).

All of these pendant are finished with sterling wire & semi-precious beads - labradorite, sodalite, carnelian & jasper. The pendant below has a leaf print & all the rest are drawn free-hand (that seems to be my favourite thing at the moment).

pairs, patterns & patinas...

finished putting together the earrings from this batch of pmc pieces.

The dark triangles are an older pair I've given a patia, as well as new beads & hooks - I'm very pleased with the transformation. The round pair & the small teardrops (with green beads) have a leaf imprint & the other three are patterns drawn into the wet clay.

the pair with the leaf imprint & patia are probably my favourite out of this bunch.

patina & polish

The rest of this batch of silver.

Unlike the other pieces, I gave these ones a patina. I've then rubbed back & burnished them - I mostly wanted the patina to highlight the patterns & textures of the pieces.

The earrings with the triangular stones are an older pair I'm re-finishing.

Apart from the three pendants with the stones, these are now in the process of being turned into pendants & earrings.

& a couple of close-ups, because I was playing around with the macro lens :)

finally finished - part 2

a look at the rest of the pieces from this post (part 1 here).

Most of these pendants (in fact, all except the one with the blue stone) have been given a patina & then rubbed back to enhance their textures.

The leaf below was a special request for my youngest sister Amy

& Kathryn fell in love with the yellow pendant...

I have some more large cubic zirconias in various colours, so I'll be making a few more pendants somewhat similar to this one.

finally finished - part 1

a little look at the final result with the pieces from this post (well, part one anyway - more to come).

These five pendants have been finished with sterling silver bails & semi-precious beads. The patterns on the two rounded pieces, as well as the piece with the sodalite (blue) bead, were done free-hand while the clay was still soft.

also some earrings, all finished with handmade hooks...

This first pair were supposed to be quite different (they were going to have a cz in the centre), but it wasn't working, so I changed my plans & I'm really pleased with the result.

and these last ones also have a free-hand pattern, with a similar design to the pendants.

silver & patina...

Some fine silver (pmc) creations. Also playing a bit with patina.

this pendant with the orange cz was Amy's birthday present, I just borrowed it back to photograph.

the dark earrings & the pendant with gold on it are from the workshop I went to this year...a proper post to come on that, probably in the new year.
