to market, to market...

Very excited about the markets I have coming up - if you're in Adelaide & wanting to see my jewellery in person (including plenty of pieces that aren't available elsewhere), you have three opportunities this year.

Catch me at:

Gathered Market ~ 10am-4pm, Saturday 11th + Sunday 12th November, Queen's Theatre, Playhouse Lane
Etsy Made Local ~ 10am-4pm, Saturday 25th November, Oxford Tce, Unley
Gifted Christmas Market ~ 4pm-9pm Friday 15th + 11am-7pm Saturday 16th December, Hart's Mill, Port Adelaide

The markets will be full of all sorts of amazing, locally made goodies - perfect for doing your Christmas shopping & just generally lots of fun. I have been busy making new things (hoping to have some photos of those posted here soon-ish) & I'm pretty happy with how they are turning out.

Hopefully I'll see you there...

market days...

A little wrap-up of our recent market outings...

We booked ourselves a pretty packed end-of-year market schedule - three big Adelaide markets in a row - & we always knew it would mean pushing ourselves in terms of energy & stock levels. And while life circumstances & super hot weather have meant we've finished way more tired/drained than expected, we're still pretty happy with the outcome.

First up was the Home Sweet Home market at Flinders Street in mid-November. We had a joint Jewelflyt + Hollipotamus stall, under our newly lace-topped gazebo, filled with copper & bronze jewellery, zentangle cards, dragons, dogs, mobiles... Although there wasn't as big a crowd as anticipated/hoped for, we still had a really good market - including far too many cakes from St George's.

On the last Saturday in November, I had a solo (Jewelflyt) stall at the Etsy Made Local event in Unley - these were run all over the country on the same day, the Adelaide event being organised by the EtsyAdelaide street team. The setting was gorgeous (Oxford Tce), the weather was kind to us, my stall looked good (& I almost ran out of business cards), there were heaps of people & I had probably my best ever market day sales - just an amazing day all round.

Then on the first weekend in December it was time for this year's Christmas Bazaar at Flinders Street. A joint venture again, under the lace canopy & I think our stall looked lovely. The crowd wasn't as big as last year - but then last year it wasn't super hot (high 30C's, low 40C's both days). Actually, considering the heat, the amount of people who came to the market was amazing & we still had a really good weekend sales-wise.

& lastly to the Wirrabara Producer's Market last Sunday. Things were a little quiet - thanks to the weather again (it was cooler on the day, but the lead up left everyone exhausted) - but it is always a nice outing & a lovely way to finish off the year's markets.

to market, to market...

Got a pretty busy lead-up to Christmas this year - lots of awesome markets to attend...

First up, Home Sweet Home at Flinders Street Market on the 21st & 22nd November. There will be all sorts of handcrafted & vintage homewares, plus yummy food & coffee. I'll have suncatchers/dreamcathers to hang in your window or above your bed, copper & bronze jewellery & zentangle cards, plus my lovely Mum & sister will be there too, with all their gorgeous Hollipotamus goodies...

Then the next Saturday - 28th November - I'll be part of the Etsy Made Local event in Unley. Oxford Tce will be full of all sorts handmade goodness, plus the French Christmas market will be on across the road. My stall will be full of my fine silver, copper, bronze & sterling silver jewellery, plus a bit of beady goodness...

The first weekend in December (5th & 6th) will find me at Flinders Street Market for the Christmas Bazaar. Last year's event was totally amazing & I'm sure this year will be too - the market will be full of all sorts of good things the give for Christmas, or to treat yourself with. Hollipotamus will be there with me & we will have jewellery, zentangle cards, dragons, mobiles, felt ornaments + more...

& last but not least, Wirrabara Producers Market, on the Sunday before Christmas (20th Dec)...

to market, to market...

Very pleased to tell you about my first market for the year (along with Hollipotamus) - we'll be at the Flinders Street Market Handmade with Love market on the 7th of February. They'll be celebrating their 1st Birthday & being only a week before Valentine's day it's the perfect opportunity to pick up something gorgeous & unique for that special someone (or a lovely treat for yourself).

I'm aiming to have some beautiful new designs available (making their public début), along with more fine silver & polymer jewellery & the Hollipotamus girls have been working on some cute & sweet new things (including a new batch of dragons!).

We'll also be back at the Wirrabara Producer's Market on the 15th.

to market, to market...

I've been madly making new jewellery, getting ready for a busy lead up to Christmas this year, with a market booked every weekend. I'm looking forward to every one of them, although I'm pretty sure I'll be ready for a break by the end of the month.

It all starts with the Flinders Street Market Christmas Bazaar on the 6th & 7th, followed by a Summer Sunday market at Beaumont House on the 14th & last (but not least) the Wirrabara Producers Market on Sunday the 21st.

& then it's time for a nap + Christmas of course :)

Christmas Grand Bazaar - Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th December, 230 Flinders Street, Adelaide
Summer Sundays - Sunday 14th December, 631 Glynburn Road, Beaumont
Wirrabara Producers Market - Sunday 21st December, 40 High Street, Wirrabara

A little peek at something I've been working on since I got home - a new design for our range of hand painted bags (& aprons). Very much inspired by Polish/Baltic florals, papercuts (wycinanki) & folk art - hopefully the first design of several we will be producing. I've drawn, re-drawn, scanned, enlarged, printed the design & it is now ready for me to cut out a stencil, before we can start painting.

I'm really enjoying drawing these stylised florals - I kept this one quite simple, but have also been having fun with more intricate designs - & along with some other influences/inspirations from my travels, they should start appearing in all sorts of mediums...

Sunday markets...

On the Sunday of the conference those who could met in Brisbane to do some market browsing. Though it turned out to be a small group, we had lots of fun.

Andrea, Meggan & I caught the train from Surfers to Southbank & met Gaynor near the cafe's. From there, we went for a wander through the Southbank Market.

Gaynor very kindly acted as our tour guide, driving us around & making sure we didn't get lost - thanks Gaynor :)
Next we went to the Marky Markets, where we met Cloud & Ky from Voodoo Rabbit (I didn't get any photos unfortunately).

I also treated my self to two lovely brooches - the mushroom is from pannikin & the lady is from Amanda - Hungry Designs.

After that we headed to the Valley Laneway Markets - held in several different Brisbane laneways, of which we visited two. We also stopped for some lunch at the first - yummy greek spinach parcels, followed by a very nice nut-filled biscuit. We had some company too...

Last but not least, we visited in.cub8r & met the lovely Sandra - another DUST-er :)

We left Andrea at the airport & Gaynor took Meggan & I back to the train station, from where we headed back to Surfers (& I got my extra crochet lesson)
