bundaleer forest | part 1

We're lucky enough to have not just one, but two forests in our area - the Wirrabara forest is a little closer, so we've visited it a bit more often. A little over a week ago, we spent most of a day in the Bundaleer forest, near Jamestown.

It was a cold day, kinda cloudy with possible showers forecast - it wasn't raining when we arrived, but the recent wet weather meant it was quite wet & slippery underfoot. There are a couple of walks which start at the picnic ground & we decided to walk the shorter 'Maple Walk' to work up an appetite for morning tea. Apart from a brief shower it stayed dry - the sun even came out for a while & morning tea was thoroughly enjoyed.

After morning tea was a bit wetter &......well, you'll have to wait for part two...

{ the teleidoscope } | part 1

...& she found another view...
new perspective
early last year I joined a group on Flickr called The Teleidoscope. A group of photographers started it in 2011, as a 52 weeks self portrait project, with a theme for every week of the year. In 2012 they posted a new list of themes & changed the rules, allowing non-portrait photos - as long as they were an interpretation of the theme, of course.

After enjoying looking at the photos during 2011, last year I thought I'd try taking a photo for as many of the themes as I could. I decided at the beginning that I wouldn't worry about it if I missed some themes, although I quickly got to the point where I tried very hard not to miss any.

It was a real challenge sometimes, but I really enjoyed  myself & am pretty pleased with the photos. I also had, at various times, help (with anything from ideas, to construction, to taking the photo) from Mum, Kathryn & Amy.

All along I've posted my alternates/out-takes here on the blog, so I thought I'd post a selection of my uploads to the group. They're in chronological order - I don't think I could pick a favourite among them. In fact another day my selection would probably be different anyway!

Bowerbird Bazaar { part 1 }

We had a wonderful time at the Bowerbird Bazaar on Saturday. There was so much gorgeousness to look at, lots of friendly people & very good coffee & cake. I did treat myself to a few goodies (a post on them soonish), but there were lots & lots of things I would have liked to bring home.

Between us we picked up a fair number of business cards & I love the fact that so many of them are so different & creative.

Oh, & if you're wondering why there are only photos of business cards, rather than the of bazaar - we neglected to take the camera in with us. Also, we were too busy enjoying looking around to think of taking photos. & they are a rather nice bunch of cards :)

If you're interested, there are some photos on the Bowerbird facebook page.
