recently...

...a warm, sunny end to winter was followed swiftly by a cool, rainy start to spring, since which we've had cold, warm & sunny, cool, & rainy/sunny/windy/rainy/windy days - typical spring weather basically...

...I spent a few days feeling miserable with a stomach bug, getting better just in time to have two wisdom teeth removed - thankfully is was only day surgery, so I didn't have to spend the night in hospital. It all went fine (though apparently one of the teeth was 'tricky' >_<) & I am (slowly) getting back to normal. Rather over feeling tired/sore/blah, but I know it could all be worse, so I'll just keep moving forward as best I can...

...it's not really that recent any more, but we had a July weekend at Flinders Street Market. We'll potentially be heading down later this month & we're already busy preparing for some big markets in the lead up to Christmas...

...had a bit of exciting jewellery related news last month - there's a post on that coming shortly...

...speaking of jewellery, haven't done a lot of making recently, but hoping to be getting back into things as soon as possible...

...had fun playing along with August Break again this year - following (some of) the prompts on my instagram & finding plenty of pretty things waking up in the garden to take pictures of...

...finished another big zentangle/mandala, which you can now find on my redbubble...

...looking forward to celebrating my birthday next weekend, seeing my youngest sister off (to Edinburgh! lucky girl) in the week after & getting to catch up with my godmother again.

an unexpected visitor | brisbane

Whilst in Brisbane we spent a morning at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, finishing with morning tea at the cafe. As we were getting ready to leave, someone arrived to deal with our cake crumbs for us...

recently...

I've been enjoying the evening light & mild weather - very up & down weather (today was 31C - last week they had snow not far from us!), but mostly it's been lovely.

Doing lots of travelling getting to & from class - only two more weeks to go. I won't miss the travelling/early mornings/late nights, but I'm going to miss class. My second project is almost finished - it's just not quite photo-ready...some sanding & finishing left to do.

I've taken a huge amount of jewellery photos - both for the blog & for etsy. Random out-take below

Had some yummy baked goodies recently too - I made a Carrot Cake & Amy baked Lemon Curd Marble Muffins (but with stewed apples instead of lemon curd) - both from the River Cottage Everyday cookbook.Yum.

& the garden is full of all sorts of birds...

simply superb...

Not long ago I was fortunate to be one of the winners in a give-away on the inaluxe blog. If you haven't seen their work before, I urge you to go have a look, it's all gorgeous.

My prize was this beautiful Superb Blue Wren print, which arrived the other day, beautifully packaged & even more gorgeous than it looked online. I should have taken a photo before I tore the sticker, but I couldn't wait to see it :)

If you want your own blue wren (& why wouldn't you), all their prints are available in their online store. Or one of their other prints might catch your eye, like this one, or perhaps this.

Thanks so much Kristina & Jason, I love my little wren :)

tomorrow I fly...

...to Melbourne :)

I'm attending a PMC workshop & lecture over the weekend & decided to take few extra days & have a little holiday. So I'm planning to take lots of photos, eat some yummy food, browse some nice shops...& maybe even catch up with some DUST-ers.

So, I'll catch you all when I get back next week & until then, any fabulous suggestions of things to see/do?
