{ five things }

~ enjoying the cooler weather (& glorious rain) after what felt like a very long stretch of very hot & humid weather.

~ I've been working on my first batch of silver for the year.

~ some cute patches: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

~ spent a while chasing a butterfly around the garden the other afternoon - this is one of maybe three good photos I got, but I had fun regardless.

~ might have to make this chocolate cake again sometime soon...

I love black & white photography.

almost uploaded the first photo to flickr, but ended up going with this one instead.

Somehow the new year seems like the perfect time to plot & plan & set goals.

I have a whole list of goals & ideas for this year, but this is sort of the general outline:

~ keep creating & pushing myself to try new techniques & materials
~ better promote my etsy store (which is why I've signed up for this)
~ use my time better
~ do some fun stuff, just for me (like trying some embroidery & attempting to sew a skirt)
~ stay fit & healthy
~ be open to new opportunities & challenges, even (especially) if they're not on my list

...& hopefully I'll have lots of good things to post here :)

our garden is full of life...

 

1. moth (someone did tell me what they're called, but I can't remember) - there are hundreds of these about at the moment.
2. wasp
3. honey bee
4 & 5. butterfly - I spent ages chasing these around, waiting for them to land long enough to be photographed (they may get their own post later)
6. bee. this one has white stripes & is a different shape to the usual, we think it might be a native bee?
