recently...

...started a photo project (also, here & here) & took a new teleidoscope photo

...I've been making textures, playing with paper & framing pictures

...trying some different things for making necklaces (although I might need to buy some supplies...how sad :P )

...started a largish painting project on the front wall of the shop (photos later)

...finally created my etsy 'About' page

...baked chicken & leek pasties with Mum (I could eat that leek filling all on its own) & enjoyed the baking efforts of my sisters

...& started a new batch of clay

playing with paper...

I spent a lovely afternoon the other day, playing with pretty papers & making some gift tags. I use these to write a little thank you note to send with my jewellery. They are also good if I need a tag for a gift, lol.

I started by cutting some plain card to size (these are about 8cm x 5.5cm). We have a generous stash of scrap-booking supplies, so I raided that for some nice colours.

Once I had my base, I got out the fancy papers (most of the ones I used are washi paper) & started putting them together. I picked colour combinations I liked & stuck to quite simple designs - either following the lines of the fancy paper, or cutting geometric shapes. A little scrap-booking glue & voilà a nice stack of gift tags.

a photo project in four parts...

Earlier this year when I was brainstorming ideas for this blog & other projects, the phrase 'month of mornings' popped into my head. Originally I was just going to take a photo every morning for a month, but then I started thinking about seasons & which month I would pick....

Eventually I decided that I would take a months worth of photos, but in four parts - one week each season. So this week I am taking a photo every summer morning, in a couple of months I will take a week of autumn morning photos & so on...

...naturally I also have a few extra photos from each day (& it's only day 2, lol)...
