recently...

...mornings are getting chillier, as are the days, although there is still some warm sunshine to be enjoyed...everyone is still waiting for rain, too...

...it's also pretty dark when we go for a morning walk at the moment - we're seeing the sunrise on most of our walks - although all that will change when daylight savings ends...

...spent a lovely weekend at Writers' Week again this year - it never disappoints...

...been working on a new batch of polymer jewellery (adding yellow clay to my range), as well as finishing off some bronze & copper...

...attended our first Wirrabara Producers Market for the year, on a lovely cool, sunny autumn morning...

...we've had a mammoth crop from the peach tree this year, delicious but slightly overwhelming. They are lovely fresh -sweet & juicy - & we're doing our best to use & preserve as many as possible - in baked goods, poached, dried, stewed & we're going to have a go at peach jam + we're giving a heap away...

...for the past couple of years I've been making hot cross buns using our breadmaker, but since that bit the dust last year, I decided to try & find a recipe which didn't require one. I made a batch last week using this recipe (I used some spices (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg & ginger) instead of the orange zest) & was very happy with how they turned out (I often don't bother with the cross, as you can see above ^^^)...

...finished the mandala/zentangle piece I was working on & have started another (although I'm not sure I like the new one yet)...

...enjoyed creating something purely for it's own sake & spent an afternoon taking still-life photos on my window sill (been posting some on instagram too).

a day at the market | march

Perfect autumnal weather for our first Wirrabara Producers' Market of the year - a cool morning which gradually warmed up, with blue skies, sunshine & a slight breeze to stop it getting too hot.

The market didn't feel super busy, but business was good, morning tea was delicious (fig, almond & coconut slice, yum), we came home with apples, fresh bread, honey, cucumbers & a gorgeous dahlia, the stall looked good & it was just a generally lovely morning.

lovely links...

Autumn has arrived - warm days, cool nights & crisp mornings, although I wouldn't be surprised if we got another round of heat. What we're waiting for though, is rain...

Many faces (or hands, or feet...).

Lots of exciting things coming up at the Flinders Street Market.

Snowy magic. The beauty of winter on film. Sparkling sunshine & ocean blues. Spring-time in Paris (+ here). Magic mountaintops. Rosy beauty.

Too many baked things I'd like to try - lemon, poppyseed & blueberry streusel pound cake, overnight spiced sugar buns, zucchini pistachio bread, rosemary soda bread, double chocolate banana muffins (although I have made these once already, I'd be quite happy to eat some again...). Anyone feel like baking?

Another reason that music is awesome.

writers' week 2015

I've probably mentioned before how much I love Adelaide Writers' Week (like, oh, every year we've attended), but seriously, it's an awesome event & I highly recommend you go if you have the chance.

There is some sort of magic that happens at writers' week, where any talk you go to is interesting - some more than others, of course - & it doesn't matter if you aren't familiar with the authors, or you only see the talk because it is on the same stage as the next talk you've picked. Add to that a beautiful parkland setting (with gorgeous weather this year), free entry & good coffee - I could happily attend the whole week, although we made do with the first two days this year. Already looking forward to next year...
