ear wires & other new things...

Until recently, making my own ear wires never really occurred to me...I'm not sure why. Anyway, a little while ago, I read this post, on the lovely Ange's blog & finally got around to making some. (the red earrings above are mine, with the first pair of ear wires I made)

Now I keep wondering what took me so long. I'm loving how they look & how simple they are to make...all my earrings from now on will have handmade hooks I think :)

below is the first in a new range of pearl earrings to be listed on my etsy.

gifty goodness...

just a quick post about the lovely gifts I got for christmas last year (I started to type 'this' year, but realised that wasn't right, lol). Anyway, I got a hammer & anvil (for jewellery making, more about that in my next post), some sterling wire, a beautiful bangle from oxfam & a cute kitty cat.

isn't she cute? my brothers got together on christmas eve & made a cat for each of my sisters & I.

Congratulations sis :)

My younger sister Kathryn had some wonderful news yesterday morning...she's been offered a place in the Advanced Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing) at TAFE. She's a wonderful writer, full of imagination & you can read some snippets of her writing on her blog.
If you have a minute there are some lovely things to read there & when she's famous, you can say you knew her when ;)
& I'm only slightly biased, promise XD

Happy New Year...

just a quick post to welcome in the new year (yes, I know its already the 6th). I'm planning to take some photos of my chrissy presents soon - unfortunately its really hot here at the moment, which doesn't make going out to take photos much fun - & blog about them. I'm hoping to blog a bit more often this year......

Anyway, just wanted to wish you lots of wonderful things for 2010, may it be full of love & laughter.

*the photo is from the Adelaide Himeji Garden, which we visited on new years day :)
